Algoma University faced a challenge due to rapid growth in its three campuses, requiring increased resources and revamped processes for its diverse student body.

Established in 1965, and located on the former site of the Shingwauk Indian Residential School, Algoma has a special mission to provide cross-cultural learning between Indigenous communities and other communities in Northern Ontario.

Solutions‍

Student First provided an opportunity to enhance the efficiency of processes and leverage technology effectively. The new platform offered greater transparency in data and processes, fostering collaboration across various departments with distinct functions.

Results‍

Having a platform to review enrollment numbers, student information, and program-generated revenue has been transformative. Today, it enables the organization to share data and provide visibility to various departments, resulting in:

• Successful registration and service for over 6K new students in their first year of operation.
• Full visibility of the whole student body in one system.
• Seamless collaboration between partner institutions.

Before

• Overwhelming amounts of information had to be teased out.
